BRASOL #800
BRASOL #800 is develoved as dispersing and leveling agent for polyester dyeing in high temperature.
This product has also low foaming characteristic, so that can be used not only for jet flow rapid dyeing but also cheese and beam dyeing with excellent performance.
Properties :
Base Chemical : Nonionic surfactant
Appearance : Dark brown transparent liquid
Ionicity : Nonionic/Anionic
pH : 6.5 – 8.5 (1% aqueous solution)
Outstanding Features :
- Is very low foaming and trouble-free when used with the jet flow rapid dyeing machine and also has good migration and penetration effects wich result in level dyeing.
- Has excellent dispersing ability especially in the high temperature range (110 – 120OC) with no tarring.
- Exhibits remarkable retardation while raising the temperature at the beginning of dyeing wich helps level dye absoption.
- Is suitable for cheese dyeing of polyester sewing threads etc. And beam dyeing of polyester zip fasteners or tapes.
- Does not cause discoloration or discharging.
Has high light fastness (required in the automobile seating fabric).
Application/ recommendation :
- Bath ratio higher than 1 : 10
Standard dosage is 0.5 (deep shade) – 1.0 (pale shade) g/L ; regardless of the type of dyeing machine (e.g. rapid jet flow/ cheese/ beam dyeing).
- Bath ratio lower than 1 : 10
Standard dosage is 0.5 (deep shade) – 1.0 (pale shade)% owf.
- Recommended to co-use 0.5 – 1 g/L Chelating agent at the dyeing process to preclude hard water’s bad effects. Both can be used in the same bath.
Performance test :
- Foaming test-1 (applicable to jet flow machine)
Method : Circulation pump method, blowing at 60L/min., 10L dye bath.
Heating the dye bath at 30C/min.
Bath component : Sumikaron Turquoise Blue S-GL 1.0g/L
Glacial acetic acid 0.3g/L
Leveling agent (as 30% solid product) 1.4g/L

Method : Blowing air method (1L/min.); with airing pump
Blowing air into 200 Ml bath with 1L graduated cylinder, at
250C.
Measurement :
- Foaming property : Measure the time until the foam reaches 1L line of the
cylinder or the height of the foam in 3 minutes of
blowing air.
- De-foaming property : Stop blowing air when the foam has reached 1L
foam height in every 30 seconds until 3 minutes.
Bath component : Leveling agent (as 30% solid product) only, 2g/L

Result of the above two foaming tests show that BRASOL#800 is the most low-foaming, even at low temperatures (Product B showed high foam at low temperatures).
